About

Science, systems, and the human experience.

Rylee Mae

I am a researcher, advocate, and student leader committed to understanding how people think, remember, heal, and thrive.

I graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Psychology and a Minor in Neuroscience, earning Great Distinction with a 3.84 cumulative GPA and a 3.98 GPA across my final 20 senior-level courses.

My research through the Ekstrand Neuroimaging Lab has focused on naturalistic cognition, episodic memory, aging, and neuroimaging. I have worked with fMRI, EEG, cognitive assessment, and behavioural research methodologies.

Beyond research, I serve as Chair of the Alberta Students’ Executive Council and Vice-President External of the University of Lethbridge Students’ Union. I also co-founded FLARE, a multidisciplinary undergraduate research journal and symposium.

My long-term interests sit at the intersection of neuroscience, mental health, public policy, drug policy, trauma, altered states of consciousness, and evidence-based approaches to human flourishing.
